Dr Ramón Filgueira and Dr Barb Neis have presented separate papers at two conferences and workshops and we have made their powerpoint presentations available to interested readers. Ramón presented his paper at the Aquaculture Canada 2024 conference and tradeshow held in Charlottetown, PEI. In this paper, Ramón provides a high level summary of the work we have done in the 5 modules that make up our OFI project on social licence and aquaculture. The full presentation can be viewed here. Barb was invited to present her ongoing work on aquaculture occupational health and safety to Yale University’s Program in Occupational and Environmental Health. The presentation critically assesses the impact of mass mortality events, which are on the rise globally, for occupational health and safety, a problem that is under-researched.
