Dr Jenny Weitzman and her colleagues have published a new paper in the journal Environmental Science and Policy. The paper addresses the need to better understand the disputes that surround marine aquaculture in Nova Scotia. It makes the case for improving knowledge of these disputes and integrating their social dimensions into planning and policy. The significance of their contribution is that it will help to facilitate a better understanding of the motivations behind public responses to aquaculture. The ultimate goal of the work is to support ways of building more holistic aquaculture governance in Nova Scotia and beyond. The paper is open access and can be read in full below.
