New paper: On the ‘landing’ of salmon aquaculture

Sarah Martin, Charlie Mather, Christine Knott and Dean Bavington have published a new paper in Geoforum, an international interdisciplinary journal in human geography and allied disciplines. The paper examines two ways in which salmon is being landed – through land based production and through the use of terrestrial feeds. The paper shows how productive and speculative capital underpin these new projects, but also how they meet varied frictions which raises questions about whether ‘landing’ infrastructures represents a sustainable alternative to conventional salmon aquaculture. The paper is open access and available here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S001671852100124X.
