The growing importance of Marine Spatial Planning

The growing importance of Marine Spatial Planning

Marine Spatial Planning is being implemented by many countries as a way to manage various, sometimes competing, interests in marine spaces. The significance of this planning tool is reflected in the growing body of literature on the subject. Dr. Patricia Manuel and Dr. Bertrum MacDonald and their research group at Dalhousie University are exploring social science approaches in marine spatial planning. This group prepared an informative review of Maritime Spatial Planning: Past, Present, Future, which is based on discussion of the book during recent team meetings.
