Wenzhao (Ellie) Gao is a research assistant for the Ocean Frontier Institute’s Module M research group. She is an experienced Occupational Health and Safety Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the Process & Energy industry, especially skilled in Workplace Safety, Project Management, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Management Systems.
She completed her B.Sc. in Safety Engineering at the China University of Petroleum and a Master’s degree in Oil and Gas Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2019. In addition, she established and managed research, student union, and business projects through various working and volunteer experiences. Currently, she is working on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) patterns, risk management and regulation development in the Canadian aquaculture industry.
