Justine Ammendolia is a marine biologist, plastic pollution researcher and science communicator based out of St. John’s, Newfoundland. She works with the Placentia Bay Ocean Debris Survey team researching the plastic landscapes of coastlines in Newfoundland. Her previous research is diverse and has included, working with Arctic seabirds to conducting plastic surface trawls in locations like Western Greenland and the Torngat Mountains. She is driven to pursue a PhD and eventual career as a researcher in marine ecology as motivated by her eye-opening travels and her inspiring colleagues.
