Dr. Trine Thorvaldsen

Trine is a research scientist at SINTEF, Norway. She holds a PhD in Social Anthropology about occupational health and safety in the Norwegian fishing fleet. Her main research areas include OHS in the fishing fleet and aquaculture sector. Topics include risk perception, regulation, safety culture, training, operational safety conditions and the interaction between work environment and health. Together with Ingunn M. Holmen she has written the Norway Country Profile of Aquaculture Occupational Safety and Health as part of a global initiative supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

 

She is working in partnership with Memorial University to compare Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) patterns, processes and regulatory environments, based on research conducted in the context of Norwegian aquaculture.
