Paul Foley is an Associate Professor in the Environmental Policy Institute, School of Science and the Environment, at Memorial University of Newfoundland’s Grenfell Campus. He received a PhD in Political Science from York University in Toronto, Canada, specializing in political economy and global governance. His work draws on international political economy and political ecology to study relationships between environmental governance and social development, with a current empirical emphasis on fisheries and seafood. He has published widely on environmental certification in the wild-capture fisheries sector and his work in the module will include advancing research projects on aquaculture certification.
