I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland. I graduated in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at University of Trieste, Italy. My main work has been in ship noise and vibration. Before joining Memorial University, in 2015, focused my research on the development of new design methods to control noise and vibration on ships and to mitigate ship noise pollution. This included the development of new materials and devices to damp noise and vibration. These activities were developed both in Italy and in Nantes, France working in close collaboration with several industries. Over the last three years, I have been focusing on noise exposure of seafarers and fish harvesters with the aim to develop effective solutions to mitigate noise on fishing vessels and eliminate on-board hazardous noise levels.

I serve as a member of the Technical Committee Dynamic Response of the International Ship and Offshore Structures Congress (ISSC 2021). I am also a member of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects, the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, and the International Institute of Acoustics and Vibration
