Bertrum H. MacDonald is Professor of Information Management in the Faculty of Management at Dalhousie University. His research focuses on the production, communication, and use of scientific information at the science-policy interface in marine contexts. He heads the interdisciplinary Environmental Information: Use and Influence initiative (EIUI) research program (www.eiui.ca) which investigates questions about information and decision making conducted in collaboration with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental organizations (locally, nationally, and internationally). His research has been published in such as journals as Marine Policy, Ocean & Coastal Management, Marine Pollution Bulletin, and Current Opinion in Environmental Sustainability and in the book, co-edited with EIUI team members, Science, Information, and Policy Interface for Effective Coastal and Ocean Management (Boca Raton: CRC Press).
